Established in 1988, Black Rhino Safaris is a family-run safari company based in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, owned and operated by Norman, Christine, Dave and Viv. With a proud history spanning decades, we are passionate about sharing Zimbabwe’s extraordinary landscapes, rich heritage and remarkable wildlife with visitors from around the world.

Black Rhino Safaris began in the late 1980s when Russell and Colleen Pumfrey recognised an opportunity to offer visitors a more intimate and meaningful way to experience the Matobo Hills.

Their vision was simple: to go beyond traditional sightseeing and create experiences that allow guests to truly connect with the landscape, its wildlife and its remarkable cultural heritage.
